KANSAS CITY — Moreso than any other sport, the MLB Draft is really a crapshoot when trying to pinpoint where certain players will land.
The three-day MLB Draft is set for Monday, beginning at 4 p.m. Aside from Casey Mize, the 21-year-old right-hander out of Auburn who is pretty much a lock to go No. 1 to the Detroit Tigers, the way the rest of the first round might play out is still up in the air, including what the A’s might do with the No. 9 pick.
The A’s last held the No. 9 pick in 1999, selecting Barry Zito out of USC.
