Wha...??? Luis Severino Signing Is A Very “New A’s” Move

The Oakland A’s never gave out a contract of more than $66M (Eric Chavez, 6 years). Suddenly, the nomadic A’s, headed to a minor league stadium for at least 3 years of purgatory, meeting with the Las Vegas Stadium Board Authority today to try to move forward on the Armadillo Dome, just handed out the biggest contract in franchise history.

Welcome Luis Severino, owner of a new 3 year, $67M deal — too late for Oakland, too early for Las Vegas, but just right for Sacramento.

For my analysis of this signing, I will offer a “pluses and minuses” dichotomy of all things Severino.
