Triggs impressive as he battles for spot

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- There is only so much to glean from pitchers' outings in the early going of spring. The evaluation process hurries along, though, when their workloads are increased, and there was plenty to draw from A's rotation candidate Andrew Triggs' latest outing Wednesday, in the Athletics' 5-3 win over the White Sox.

Facing a lefty-heavy Chicago lineup in Glendale, Triggs made it through his first five innings with just two hits allowed, including a solo home run to Yolmer Sanchez, and would surrender one more to his first and only batter of the sixth before departing.
