OAKLAND – The A’s starting rotation is full of Nashville Predator fans, at least 40 percent full, anyway.
Sonny Gray and Andrew Triggs are both Nashville guys, and they have taken more than a little interest in the Predators playing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup finals. They play Game 5 in Pittsburgh Thursday.
The A’s flew from Oakland to St. Petersburg, Fla. after Wednesday’s loss to Toronto to prepare for a weekend series beginning Friday against the Rays. The travel plans left Thursday wide open on the schedule.
Triggs, at least, thought about whether it would be practical to use the off day to fly to Pittsburgh to try to see the game with the series tied at 2-all.
