SEATTLE – It was a big weekend for Matt Joyce, who went 5-for-11 with a couple of homer for the A’s against Texas.
Unfortunately the Rangers beat Oakland in all three games, so the big weekend lost a little of its luster for Joyce, who had been struggling. Even the tie-breaking two-run homer he hit Sunday had some of its shine washed away with the Rangers came back to win.
“When you hit it, personally you are just trying to stay in that moment,” Joyce said. “We’d just taken a two-run lead and had a good inning.
