Oakland Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt is in the Oakland lineup batting as the designated hitter in the third position today after getting hit by a pitch thrown by Kansas City Royals reliever Franklin Morales in the ninth inning of Friday night's 5-2 loss. Vogt was hit "in the area below his right wrist," reports MLB.com's Trevor Hass, "but an X-ray revealed no broken bones." Asked by reporters about any intent given the events of the series last April, Vogt and teammates Jesse Hahn and Ike Davis did not believe the act was intentional.
