SEATTLE — It’s taken him longer than he would have liked, but Stephen Piscotty is finally starting to look like the hitter the A’s were expecting to get when they traded for him in the offseason.
Piscotty picked up two hits in Friday night’s loss to the Mariners. It was his third straight game with at least a hit, and just his third multi-hit game of the season.
But the cause for Piscotty’s increased confidence at the plate goes beyond just the numbers he’s putting up recently.
Even on simple foul balls, Piscotty said his eye at the plate seems to be a lot more sharp, allowing him to make good contact with a majority of the pitches he’s swinging and lay off the bad ones.
