OAKLAND -- The A's recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville and placed right-handed pitcher Daniel Mengden on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, with a sprained right foot, the club announced Wednesday.
Bassitt joins the A's for the fifth time this year. He did not pitch during his first two stints from April 20-25 and May 26, made one start during his one-day third stint on June 9 and two starts during his most recent stint, which lasted from June 14-22. He is 0-3 with a 3.86 ERA in three starts with Oakland and 2-3 with a 6.
