The Oakland Athletics are back in the Bay Area and tuning up for the regular season with the annual Bay Bridge series against the San Francisco Giants.
The club’s time in the Cactus League was a mixed bag with the team tying for third in wins. At the same time though, the No. 1 starter Sonny Gray will start the season disabled after a lat strain injury on his right side. The setback doesn’t appear to be too serious and Gray may return to the rotation in mid-April.
The rest of the roster has more questions and than answers as they face a Giants team that is hoping for a return to the playoffs.
