OAKLAND -- A's shortstop Marcus Semien had a special guest at the Coliseum on Father's Day -- his father, Damien.
Marcus was born while Damien was playing football at Cal-Berkeley in 1990. He grew up going to Cal games, one reason he picked Cal to play collegiate baseball.
Now Marcus is eagerly exploring fatherhood from the other side of the spectrum following the births of son Isaiah in April 2017 and second son, Joshua, two weeks ago.
"My boys are still so young that they don't get Father's Day," Semien said Sunday before the A's played the Angels in their homestand finale.
