Sean Manaea Helps A’s Capture Win In New York

The A’s received a stellar start from Sean Manaea on Friday night. With the win, Manaea improves to 3-3 on the year with a 4.35 ERA.

Manaea’s best start of the season lasted seven innings and was followed up by a perfect eighth inning by reliever Ryan Madson. When the Yankees entered the bottom of the night, however, the A’s faced some unwanted drama.

The A’s had Santiago Casilla enter the game in the ninth inning with a 4-0 lead. All the momentum was with the A’s until Bob Melvin decided to give Casilla the ball.
