Another game, another instance of late-inning success for the A’s against Detroit.
On Saturday, Adam Rosales won it with a two-run single. On Sunday, it was Ryon Healy’s turn, as he hit a two-run blast over the left-field wall to win it 8-6.
The A’s took two of three games in the weekend series after returning home from a 2-7 road trip.
It was tightly contested throughout. A’s reliever Ryan Dull surrendered a two-run homer to catcher James McCann in the sixth inning to put Detroit up 6-5.
In his second start of the season, Sonny Gray lasted 42/3 innings, surrendering four runs on seven hits.
