Ryon Healy on A’s trading him ‘It was time to move on’

SEATTLE — It was a bit of a strange sight for former A’s slugger Ryon Healy.

With the A’s in town for a three-game series, it was the first time Healy, now the starting first baseman for the Seattle Mariners after getting traded from Oakland in the offseason, took the field against the team that originally drafted him in the third round of the 2013 draft.

“It was interesting. Definitely different,” Healy said of playing against his former team. “I root for them as much as I can when I’m not playing against them. I think we both have the mutual respect for each other.
