MESA, Ariz. -- A's starters had a rough go of it in split-squad action Saturday, though it could only be of consequence for one of them.
Left-hander Sean Manaea easily shook off his struggles following his second-to-last outing ahead of his season debut as the club's No. 2 starter. But right-hander Jesse Hahn, in battle for a rotation job, doesn't have that luxury.
Hahn, facing the Dodgers on the road while Manaea stayed home to face the Reds, was on the hook for seven runs (five earned) in 3 1/3 innings.
