Derek Norris' time with the Washington Nationals appears to be short-lived.
Traded from San Diego to Washington in December, Norris was reportedly placed on waivers on Saturday.
Following an All-Star campaign with the A's in 2014, Norris was traded to the Padres. He posted solid numbers in his first season with San Diego, but 2016 was a disappointing year for the 28-year-old backstop. In 125 games, he hit .186/.255/.328 with 14 home runs and 42 RBI.
Norris' chance to start in Washington all but vanished when the Nationals signed free agent Matt Wieters in late February.
