The A’s added former Giants pitcher Yusmeiro Petit to their staff Wednesday, reportedly agreeing to a two-year, $10 million deal with the right-hander who excelled for the Angels last season.
Petit, 33, last year signed a minor-league deal with the Angels just before spring training, and he delivered a 2.76 ERA over 91 1/3 innings, including a major-league leading 87 1/3 innings out of the bullpen. Aside from his effectiveness, his ability to pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen made him one of their most important pitchers.
