Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported Wednesday that Oakland has agreed to terms with first baseman Chris Carter on a minor-league deal. He’ll report to Triple-A Nashville.
Carter, who spent parts of three seasons (2010-12) with Oakland, was released by the Yankees this month. He hit .201 with eight home runs in 208 at-bats this year with New York.
For Milwaukee last season, the right-handed hitter led the National League in homers (41) and strikeouts (206).
