Cory Gearrin joined the A’s on Saturday six weeks after the Giants traded him to Texas.
“I shouldn’t have given up my apartment,” quipped the reliever, who had a place in downtown San Francisco and now can find something closer to the Coliseum.
The A’s and Giants don’t make trades anymore — nothing since Dec. 4, 1990 (Ernie Riles for Darren Lewis) — so an intermediary was necessary for Gearrin to cross the bay.
