Rajai Davis was on the field before Saturday’s game, testing out his left hamstring, doing some running and some hitting.
“I’m going to do it all,’ the A’s outfielder said after missing Friday’s game because of the issue.
Davis said he did not expect to be available for the game against the Mariners, but said that Sunday’s game is a possibility.
“I think we’re potentially close to getting him in a game,” manager Bob Melvin said. “That’s obviously a big part of his game, the running portion, so we don’t want to overdo it and we want to give him time so once he’s in there he can play his game.
