OAKLAND
The A’s won another pretty thrilling game Wednesday and some people even noticed. One of those people was their manager, Bob Melvin.
Following a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels at the Coliseum, a result that meant his team had completed a home stand with a 4-2 record, Melvin was asked whether it was time to officially become semi-excited about the 2017 Athletics.
“I’m always excited about us,” Melvin said. “Always optimistic. There are always things we can do better. But I see things I like. Which means I’m always optimistic.”
This summer, he may have a reason.
