OAKLAND -- The Rangers were victorious in left-hander Martin Perez's season debut, pulling out a four-game series tie in Oakland with Thursday's 6-3 win at the Coliseum.
Perez was struck for 10 hits but limited the damage to three runs in 5 1/3 innings, backed by a four-run top of the second inning, helped along by a critical error by A's starter Daniel Mengden. The eventful frame began with a double from Adrian Beltre, giving him 3,054 career hits -- most ever by a player born in Latin America. Beltre added a single in the 8th.
