OAKLAND -- Japanese phenom Shohei Ohtani was victorious in his first Major League start, orchestrating an impressive six-inning showing that featured six strikeouts in a 7-4 win over the A's on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum.
The Angels supported him with 13 hits, including three each from Andrelton Simmons and Jefry Marte, to cap the four-game series with their third consecutive victory.
Ohtani was struck for three hits in the second inning, including a three-run homer off the bat of Matt Chapman, but the A's would be denied any more thereafter.
