The Oakland Athletics trimmed their major league camp by seven players ahead of Sunday's contest against the Chicago Cubs. Third baseman Renato Nunez, first baseman Rangel Ravelo, and starting pitcher Raul Alcantara, all on the 40-man roster, were optioned to the minor leagues. Catcher Beau Taylor, infielder Josh Rodriguez, shortstop Richie Martin, and left-handed reliever Daniel Coulombe, non-roster invitees, were reassigned to minor league camp.
