The Oakland A’s early success in 2020 has been led by a few of their less heralded players, while some of the main stars have been slower to heat up. On Thursday, a few of those top names stepped up and carried the day.
Sean Manaea pitched into the 6th inning in his best start of the season so far, and Matt Chapman and Matt Olson combined for three homers in a 5-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondback. The win earned the A’s a split in the four-game home-and-away series, with all four contests going to the home teams.
