The Oakland A’s will call up pitcher Daniel Gossett to start in Miami next week, reports Susan Slusser of the S.F. Chronicle. The A’s visit the Marlins on Tuesday and Wednesday, so the right-hander is expected make his debut in one of those games. He’s taking the spot of fellow starter Andrew Triggs, who was placed on the disabled list Saturday. Click here for Slusser’s full writeup.
The 24-year-old Gossett was Oakland’s 2nd-round draft pick in 2014, and he enjoyed a breakout last season that catapulted him from High-A all the way up to a brief cameo in Triple-A Nashville.
