The Oakland A’s activated pitcher Sean Manaea from the 10-day disabled list, the team announced Monday. To make room on the 25-man roster, catcher Bruce Maxwell was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
Manaea exited his start on April 26 after two innings, and subsequently landed on the DL with a strained shoulder. The left-hander missed a couple turns in the rotation, but looked strong in a minor league rehab outing last week. He’ll take the mound Monday evening against Seattle, sliding into the rotation spot that was vacated when Jharel Cotton was optioned back to Triple-A.
