CHICAGO - After some poor base-running complicated matters for Oakland on Saturday, one of the previous offenders turned in a textbook dash home with what proved to be the game-winning run.
With two outs in the eighth inning, Stephen Piscotty - who had run into the final out of the sixth - sprinted in on Nick Martini’s first big-league hit and got his foot in just ahead of the throw to the plate to give the A’s the lead in an eventual 7-6 win over the White Sox.
