For more than a month, poor pitching tripped up many a fine A’s offensive effort, including each of the first two games of this homestand.

The recent exception: Sean Manaea, who again Wednesday turned in a strong outings, working six scoreless innings in a 3-1 victory over the Angels to help end the A’s eight-game winning streak.

Manaea is the only A’s starter to make it beyond the fifth over the past week. He also worked 6 2/3 innings on Friday, and over his past four starts, the left-hander is 2-2 with a 3.04 ERA.

Khris Davis thumped his 39th homer for Oakland - he has 81 over the past two years, and he has homered in consecutive games and three times in the past five games.
