MLB offseason can start now that Giancarlo Stanton and Shohei Ohtani have landed

Baseball’s offseason has been slow to get going this winter, thanks to a couple of high-profile targets patiently choosing their new homes. We now know that Japanese phenom Shohei Ohtani will play for the Angels, while reigning NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton will suit up for the Yankees.

Both of those situations could have gone better for the A’s, but both could also have gone much worse. In particular, they were each heavily tied to the Giants, and the last thing A’s fans need is a few more months of hearing about how much more awesome it is across the Bay.
