MESA, Ariz. – The A’s are looking for a way to get back to the top of the pack. In that, Matt Olson may be their secret weapon.
Olson has the right touch, or so it seems.
Since being drafted out of high school in suburban Atlanta, he’s been nothing if not a winner.
In 2012 his Arizona rookie league team finished in first place. In 2013 Class-A Beloit finished first in the Midwest League. In 2014 Class-A Stockton won the second-half title in the California League. The 2015 season saw him at Midland when the A’s affiliate finished first in the Texas League.
