ARLINGTON, Texas — Matt Chapman received the first of many awards the A’s expect him to earn in the future.
The third baseman was named the A’s winner of the 2018 Heart and Hustle Award. All 30 MLB teams select a recipient for the award, which is voted on by former players and is given to an active player who most represents a passion for the game of baseball, and best embodies the values, spirit and tradition of the game.
The 30 winners will all be included in another vote near the end of the season to determine the final winner, which is announced Nov.
