Matt Chapman’s HR sends A’s to win over Cleveland in 12 innings

OAKLAND — A fireworks night crowd of 36,913 showed up at the Coliseum on Friday, many glued to what was unfolding with the Warriors in Houston.

The fans erupted in glee when Kevin Durant-less Golden State closed out the Rockets, and they did so again a couple of hours later when Matt Chapman drilled a home run to left leading off the 12th inning, lifting the A’s to a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

It was Oakland’s third extra-inning game in six days and second walk-off win since Wednesday. They went 13 in a loss at Pittsburg on Sunday and 13 again in a win at home over Cincinnati on Wednesday, which Stephen Piscotty ended with a home run.
