MESA, Ariz. — Matt Chapman is not fully back to where he wants to be, but Wednesday was a big step in the right direction.
The Gold Glove third baseman made his Cactus League debut and went 0 for 2 with a walk as the A’s designated hitter in a 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Chapman worked a full count in his first two at-bats, drawing the walk in the third inning against Daniel Corcino.
