CLEVELAND - Oakland’s outfield defense isn’t the team’s selling point this year but several inexperienced players are gaining time there and even an everyday player is making some improvements.
Mark Canha was in left Thursday while Khris Davis DH’d, but Canha has been in center more often recently and is making strides.
“The more you’re out there, the more comfortable you get,” coach Mike Aldrete said. “Mark’s a good athlete, he runs well, he doesn’t have a problem catching the ball, he’s just got to be out there to get better and better. We’re going to have to put up with a few mistakes until he gets where he needs to be.
