WEST SACRAMENTO — There hasn’t been much to cheer about during Athletics games, but a determined fan found a way to get people on their feet for baseball in West Sacramento on Wednesday night.
In the bottom of the sixth, A’s outfielder JJ Bleday hit a pop-up in foul territory that bounced off the concrete floor of the stands and onto the roof of the home team’s dugout. It was at this moment that visiting fan Kelly Evers knew she had the opportunity of a lifetime. With the effort of a shortstop trying to keep a speeding grounder from escaping the infield, Evers dove onto the dugout roof to nab herself the souvenir.
