Kyler Murray shoots down potential return to Oakland A’s

MESA, Ariz. — Don’t expect Kyler Murray to have a change of heart anytime soon.

The Heisman Trophy winner spoke to reporters at the University of Oklahoma men’s basketball game Saturday afternoon. Asked about potentially changing his mind about playing football with the A’s still holding on to his baseball rights, Murray made sure to clear up any doubt.

“I mean, they can hold out all the hope they want to,” Murray said. “I’m going to play football.”

The A’s drafted Murray with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. They allowed him to play one more season of football with the hope he would focus solely on baseball shortly after the season.
