MESA, Ariz. -- A's outfielder Khris Davis is being held out of game action for a few days because of a minor right quad issue, manager Bob Melvin said Friday.

Davis, who was last seen in a game Wednesday, will return to exhibition play no sooner than Sunday.

"We don't think it's that big a concern," Melvin said.

Davis belted 42 homers last season and has yet to hit one this spring. He's batting .250 overall in Cactus League games, with four doubles and five RBIs.

Another ailing outfielder, non-roster player Jaff Decker, continues to make progress with an oblique injury, but it's unclear when he'll get back into games.
