OAKLAND — There’s a certain build that is associated with prolific home run hitters. Khris Davis breaks that mold.
If you were to assemble a protoypical power hitter from scratch, his 5-foot-10, 195-pound dimensions would not be ideal. But Davis has managed to do more than just get by with it.
Despite being much smaller than this season’s top two home run leaders — Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge — Davis is tied with Stanton for the major league lead with 81 home runs since the start of the 2016 season.
The A’s slugger doesn’t get the attention that Stanton and Judge get.
