Khris Davis might not have a high batting average, and he might not be a Gold Glove left fielder, and he might strike out a lot.
But when he turns on a pitch he likes and makes hard contact, fortunately for the A’s, the ball tends to travel far distances.
In Davis’ two seasons in Oakland, home runs have been his specialty, and he has been more consistent than anyone else in the game hitting them. In Friday night’s 3-1 victory over the Rangers, Davis smashed his 35th and 36th homers.
It gave him a majors-high 78 homers in 2016 and 2017, and the runner-up is Giancarlo Stanton (76), who also homered twice Friday.
