MESA, Ariz. - He’s entering his 10th season in pro baseball, but Kenny Wilson is still only 27.
“I feel old,” the non-roster outfielder said with a smile. “I was drafted at 18, so I feel like I’ve been around awhile. It’s definitely made me stronger, that’s for sure.”
In all that time, Wilson never has made it to the big leagues, and he is in camp with Oakland this spring hoping this year he might finally get his shot.
“Some people peak later, it takes longer to put things together,” said A’s minor-league instructor Steve Scarsone, who managed Wilson at Triple-A Sacramento two years ago.
