Joyce, Canha homers in 9th help A’s win despite ugly inning

SEATTLE - All of the A’s 2017 bugaboos hit them at once in the seventh inning Tuesday at Safeco Field: iffy bullpen work, rotten defense and a replay review that did not go their way.

Typically, such a trifecta of ugly would signal yet another defeat for Oakland. The A’s did not fold Tuesday: In the ninth, they pulled it together again with a five-run rally to topple the Mariners 9-6, ending a four-game losing streak.

Rajai Davis started the inning against Steve Cishek, just off Seattle’s DL the previous day, with a pinch-hit single.
