Josh Phegley came off the seven-day concussion list Friday, giving the A’s three catchers at least briefly, until Sean Manaea returns from the DL on Monday to start at Seattle.
Phegley said he had concussion symptoms for only two days after taking a foul ball off the mask at Minnesota and has felt fine since.
“Great,” Phegley said. “It’s good to be back.” Bruce Maxwell appeared as if he might be the next catcher on the concussion list after getting a little dazed by a foul ball off the mask in Wednesday’s game, but he has passed every concussion test, including impact tests Friday that measured his ability to remember photos and patterns.
