Jharel Cotton didn’t throw a pitch in his last scheduled start, a late scratch at Detroit with a groin strain, but that quick action to prevent further injury might have paid off for the A’s right-hander: Cotton will be able to make his Sunday start against Texas.
"I feel like I’m a go," the rookie said Friday. "Everything feels normal. It was just like a little cramp, and I want to be able to make my last two starts, finish the season strong."
Cotton threw a bullpen session Friday and did some running in the outfield, the last step before being confirmed as the Sunday starter.
