OAKLAND – It was 25 years ago next month that Derek Jeter was drafted by the Yankees. Over the weekend the 14-time All-Star shortstop had his No. 2 retired by the Yanks en route to what is sure-fire induction into the Hall of Fame.
The Yankees took him with the sixth pick in the draft that year. This year, the A’s have the sixth pick. What are the chances that another Derek Jeter is out there waiting to be skipped by five clubs before Oakland can grab him with the sixth choice?
