Indians whack 11 doubles, wallop A’s 15-3

Oakland’s offense so regularly provides late runs in recent days, there was a sense most of Sunday that the A’s hitters were just on the verge of breaking through.

As it happened, the team that kept scoring and scoring was Cleveland. The Indians put up eight in the eighth inning, leaving Oakland no real chance to make a late charge. The A’s, who squandered a few early chances, fell 15-3, bringing their season-high six-game winning streak to an end.

Former A’s first baseman Yonder Alonso had four hits and drove in three runs, while Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez and Lonnie Chisenhall had three-hit days and Lindor scored four runs.
