Hahn makes case; Healy, Brugman drive in 4

A's starter Jesse Hahn, meanwhile, fared better with men on base, working around three hits to toss three scoreless frames. The right-hander struck out three in the outing, which surely helped his bid for the fifth-starter job.

"I need to be consistently in the zone, consistent with all my pitches, and that's exactly the approach I took today, and I think I did a good job of it," Hahn said. "I want to prove myself early. You only get so many opportunities, so when I do get them, I want to impress."

A's corner infielder Ryon Healy totaled two RBIs, and outfield prospect Jaycob Brugman chipped in with a two-run single in the sixth inning.
