Baseball ballpark food has come a long way. A long, long, way for those of us — OK, me — who were once served a Candlestick Park hot dog by a vendor with a missing thumbnail.
It’s big business now. And it doesn’t get much bigger than New York City, where on April 21-22 a Major League Baseball Food Fest will be held, with all 30 teams contributing a dish to be sampled. It’s basically a gourmand’s All-Star game.
It’s also a chance for some clubs to show off, others to take notes, and still others to step into the 21st century.
