Game #76: A’s homer twice, lead series 2-1 vs White Sox

It was a bit of a strange game today on the South Side of Chicago. Daniel Mengden got into trouble in the first inning allowing two runs and later loading the bases with nobody out, he almost got out of the jam with a close double play but the call at first was safe. With two on and two out, Tim Anderson took Mengden deep, putting the A’s at a big disadvantage early in the game with the score 5-0. Stephen Piscotty hit a two-run shot in the top of the second to put the A’s back in the game, it was only the second home run White Sox starter Dylan Covey had allowed all season.
