The A’s are riding high after yesterday’s close 6-5 win over the Royals. They’ll now try to make it two in a row against Kansas City as the team goes for its 28th win of the year.
Left-hander Jacob Lopez will take to the mound for his ninth appearance in an A’s uniform. The club teamed him up with lefty Sean Newcomb in his last appearance, starting Lopez for the first four innings before making way for Newcomb to clean it up. It worked beautifully as the pair of lefties combined for 7 innings of clean baseball (outside of one unearned run) and helped the A’s win their first series since May.
