Well, this Friday night game thread didn’t exactly start our weekend out right; the A’s were down early and often tonight. Sean Manaea has been terrific in every single one of his starts, but not tonight. Pulled with two outs in the fourth inning, Manaea struggled all night. Meanwhile, on the other side of the mound, Patrick Corbin was awesome. Corbin held the A’s to a solo home run by Mark Canha in his seven innings, allowing only three other hits while striking out seven.
The Diamondbacks opened the scoring in the first with a solo home run and a walk and a single in the third set the table for the 2-RBI double that followed.
